CCSA Christmas Baskets
The Community Christian Service Agency (CCSA) is collecting Christmas food baskets to be provided to families in need. This is an opportunity for families or groups at our church to provide support for a family during the Christmas season. Information about the program can be downloaded from this link. Each food basket may be as festive as you decide, but it should be filled with non-perishable foods and a $50 gift card from Target or Walmart for perishables so that the family can prepare a Christmas dinner. A suggested list of what should be included is also provided. The best container for your basket items is a plastic storage container with a lid. Christmas baskets should be dropped off at St. Mark’s UMC in Clairemont on December 11th or our committee will also deliver any baskets that are left with the church office before that date.
Preparation of a Christmas basket is the best way to support this program, but you can also support the Christmas outreach of CCSA with a financial donation. Your donations may be given online from the link at our church’s Donations webpage: (Select Other and put CCSA in the Note section.) You can also donate by means of checks to the church with CCSA noted on the check. These donations were a substantial help to CCSA for completing many baskets last year.
CCSA is distributing gift bags with essential clothing and hygiene items to homeless individuals served by the Pacific Beach and Clairemont centers. Your donations will also support the purchase of these needed items.
Packets with information and forms for the Christmas baskets will be available in the church entry area at Sunday services. Please contact me (snjohn2000@gmail.com or 714-623-2339) with any questions or concerns. Thanks for your support.
