School Supplies for Migrant Children “Backpack Train”

Responding to a request from the Peace with Justice Task Force of the California Pacific Conference, Pastor Tara applied for and was granted an UMCOR Grant in the amount of $2,000 to provide school supplies to children and youth seeking asylum or refugee status at the border. A member of our congregation matched that dollar amount so we ended with $4,000 for this project. The supplies and backpacks have been purchased, and now we need to assemble them and take them to where they are needed.

We will do this important work after church service on World Communion Sunday, October 1st. We will work together to fill the backpacks with school supplies for these children in need. Please be ready to join us in Fellowship Hall on October 1st.
