La Jolla United Methodist church invites you to The Music of Mark Hayes, a special spring concert, at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28.
We are honored and privileged to be hosting Mark Hayes, award-winning concert pianist, composer, arranger, lecturer and conductor of international renown. The concert will be performed by an expanded community choir, soloists, and orchestra and will include classic hymn arrangements, original compositions, secular favorites and the world premier of Mr. Hayes’s newest choral work commissioned for the occasion, all conducted by Mr. Hayes himself.
Mr. Hayes’s personal catalog totals over 2,000 published works of all kinds. He received a Bachelor of Music degree summa cum laude in Piano Performance from Baylor University in 1975 and has served as a frequent guest conductor at venues such as Lincoln Center, the National Cathedral, Carnegie Hall, St. Ignatius Basilica in Rome, Italy, and now La Jolla United Methodist Church.
The concert is free and open to the public. Early seating is recommended. A free will offering will be taken to support the church’s concert series.
