Rummage Reimagined

Dear Friends,

Margie and I have had a number of people ask about the status of the rummage sale. This annual event of 60+ years is indeed going to happen. However, we need your help to make it happen.

The “Rummage Reimagined” Sale of 2024 will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024. This is a gigantic experiment for us. Instead of the normal, year-round preparation, we will be accepting rummage and setting up only the week before. (More details about that in another Journal)

This is where you come in. Our intention is still to fill the campus, but we can’t sort, price, and display without many hands to help. We are looking for a commitment of time during the week prior to the sale, starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3-Friday, March 8. If you are able to come every day, all day, or some days and some hours (shifts will be mapped up once we know our total personnel), your participation is needed to find out if we can do this (and I know we can), so that the sale can continue for another 60+ years!

Please email me sreloc@juno.com and let me know which dates and times you have written in ink on your calendar so that I can add you to the master plan. If you have a particular department where you would like to work, please include that as well. Don’t worry, no experience needed, there will be someone to help guide you. And, of course, we need about 100 workers the day of the sale, so we would love to have you indicate your availability that day as well!

When we joined the church we pledged to “faithfully participate in the church’s ministries by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness.” There is no better, no more enjoyable, no more satisfying service than the rummage sale!
