Grace - Gratitude - Generosity

WORDS FROM WALT:  Grace – Gratitude – Generosity
     You have an opportunity this month to express your faith and make a real difference in people’s lives.  How?  Through helping your congregation increase our support of our church’s mission and ministries for 2012 - that’s how!  
     Our congregation has made some great strides these last two years in growing our giving and reclaiming our congregational vibrancy.  We want to do more!  We want to get beyond “just getting by.”  We want to challenge ourselves to go beyond the goal of regaining our financial solvency, to the goals of stepping forward in new ministries that further bring to life our mission of making, maturing and mobilizing disciples for the transformation of the world.   With all the marvelous resources of our congregation, we are a congregation that should lead the way.  We can do this.  Let us do this.
We need the participation of all our members and friends to make this happen – we need your participation.  We, who experience God’s grace in our lives, find our hearts overflowing with gratitude for its blessings, express our gratitude now in generosity, a generosity that makes real our gratitude over the blessings of God’s grace.  Take the opportunity now to partner with God’s love and the caring of your brothers and sisters in our congregation to put our resources, energies, and talents to work for the good.   
     Your lay leadership team is hoping for a 15% increase in our financial support for 2012.  Meeting that goal will move us from “just getting by” to “really getting going!”  Debbie and I have made our pledge to reach this goal.  I hope you will do so as well.
