Cottage Gatherings

Cottage Gathering 2010

With support of a number of parishioners, I will be doing a series of Cottage
Gatherings this month. The Gatherings will provide me an opportunity to hear
from you, and you a chance to talk with one another. I am looking to assess how
the church is feeling about our accomplishments together my first year with you.
I am looking to learn how you feel about our church, our ministries to our members
and our ministries to the broader community. What’s working and what
could be made to work better? What resources do we need to succeed and how
shall we marshal them? Are we moving as well as we could toward our mission
goals and what might help us be more effective in this effort? Are we the church
you hope us to be?

Thirteen Cottage Gatherings are scheduled so far, with two of these being Sundays
after church for those who find themselves unable to attend a home meeting.
An Invitation to one of the Gatherings should already have been received by all
our congregants. Please RSVP as soon as possible, and if you are unable to attend
that assigned Gathering, call the host and he or she will be able to recommend
a different Gathering better suited to your calendar.

I am looking forward to this opportunity to continue our conversation about ministry
at and through LJUMC. I hope you can be present and share your insights
and hopes.
