We serve Christ by serving others locally, regionally and internationally.

Inter-Faith Shelter Network

    Our congregation hosts 12 guests for two weeks, providing breakfast and food for sack lunches and dinners for this rotational shelter program.  We provide Overnights Hosts to ensure our guests a comfortable and safe stay.

    We will host our next Inter-Faith Shelter December 31, 2016 - January 13, 2017.

    Community Christian Service Agency (CCSA)

      We collect and deliver a “Food of the Month” to help keep agency food pantry shelves able to meet the needs of homeless and low income families and individuals.

      We support the “Back to School Program” with donations of school supplies and gift cards for shoes, socks, and needed clothing items.

      We support the “Adopt a Family for Christmas Program” providing a family food basket and gift cards for each family member for a Christmas gift.

      We support the “CCSA Hunger Walk” as walkers or sponsors to help raise funds for food and services provided by CCSA. (Spring/April)

      METRO (Methodist Urban Ministries) Thanksgiving Meal Food Drive

        We give thanks and share our bounty by collecting food for Thanksgiving meals and providing funds for METRO to purchase turkeys and holiday meats to be given to families in need in urban San Diego.

        Snack Bag Ministry: Assistance for those seeking help from our church office

          • We provide a small lunch bag
          • Bus tokens
          • Directions and phone numbers of referral agencies
          • Additional help as appropriate

            Mission Work Team Information and Opportunities

              Information and opportunities to participate in mission work teams are available.  We have assisted members of our congregation join in mission work teams in Guatemala (Guatemala Project), Mexico (Joint Commission for Cooperation and Church Extension between the U.S. and Mexico/ Hands Across the Border) and in the San Diego District United Methodist Church Katrina Re-build work teams.

              Global Missions

                We support our Missionaries Dr. David and Mrs. Lorene Persons in Mulungwishi, Democratic Republic of the Congo.  David is the Dean of Mulungwishi Seminary and Lorene is the Director of the Women’s School which educates and trains the wives of the pastors.
