Sunday Family Concert: Organ & Piano

Our first concert of 2012 features piano and organ.  Ronel Wishnuff, our resident accompanist, will be joined by Jared Jacobsen, former San Diego Civic Organist and currently organist at First Lutheran.

Selections will include piano music for one, two, and four hands, piano and organ duets, and individual pieces.

In keeping with the Family Concerts Series goal of interesting children in music and various musical instruments, the concert will begin with a 20 minute “show and tell.”  During this time the organ will be turned so that everyone can see the instrument being played.  The children will be invited to approach the organ to get a first hand look at the stops, keyboards, and foot pedals.  The second part of the program will include forty minutes of music.  There is no admission charge.  A freewill offering will be taken to compensate the musicians for their time.  An opportunity to meet the musicians will follow the concert.

Parents with young children are encouraged to take advantage of the free child care available before or at any time during the concert.

All are invited to come and enjoy this unique, special opportunity for parents to share the magic of music with their children, neighbors and friends.  Doors open at 3:30 pm.
