Christmas Alternative Giving Fair
Sundays, December 2nd & December 9th
The Christmas Alternative Giving Fair will be held Sundays, December 2nd & December 9th in the Fellowship Hall after Worship. This is an opportunity to give an “alternative” Christmas gift by giving to the following organizations, either financially or by offering your service as a volunteer. You may give in honor or in memory of someone or just give because you want to support the project. There will be items for sale by some of the groups.
The following is this year’s shopping list:
- Bethlehem Olive Wood (Dec. 2nd only!)
This group will be bringing handcrafted items for sale.
- Community Christian Service Agency (CCSA)
Helps with food, clothing, and household goods, counseling and referrals to other agencies or sources of help, love, understanding, and concern.
- Guatemala Project (Dec. 9th only!)
Provides scholarships and other aid to Guatemalans. This group will be bringing handcrafted items to be sold to support our District Mission project to this country.
- Heifer Project International
Works in partnership with hungry families around the world. Helps people begin producing their own food and sustainable income.
- Interfaith Shelter Network
Helps homeless people get back on their feet. LJUMC hosts this group for 2 weeks every year, providing meals, shelter, and overnight chaperones.
- Nothing But Nets
Provides live-saving treated mosquito bed nets to prevent malaria. 1 net costs $10 and covers a family of 4.
- San Diego Habitat for Humanity Brings people together to build homes for ownership by low-income families in need.
